Our cats and dogs are part of our immediate family and go in and out of our house. If you are allergic to either, you may want to reconsider making a reservation with us. We have a"bird room" on the main level with many just-hatched birds (chicks, ducklings, goslings) as well as budgies, lovebirds and cockatiels and even chinchillas! These guys can be noisey! Our farm is home to birds and animals. They can be loud at times, even throughout the night. Our dogs are trained to ward off predators, and they may erupt in barking if they sense danger is near, often in the middle of the night. If you need a quiet environment to sleep well, you may want to consider booking into another B&B. Our farm can be muddy, especially after heavy rains. Bring appropriate footwear (rubber boots are best) if you want to be able to mingle with the animals and birds in any weather condition. Animals can be "smelly". If you find such odours noxious, it's probably wise not to come to stay for long. Especially during the fall, flies and spiders are an issue at a farm. Be prepared to share your room with a few insect pests! Noah's Farm is meant to be a realistic alternative livestock farming experience. There are no luxuries, furnishings are modest but comfortable. The decor is relatively plain. We try to keep the house clean, but even this can be a challenge at times, especially during our busiest times of the year (spring and early summer). The entire house is designed with animals in mind - tile floors instead of carpeting or hardwood.... Our meals are nutritious and ample but not fancy. They are typical of what many farm families would serve to guests. Vegetables are grown in our fields. Ian bakes homemade bread and goodies and takes pride in his jams. Next Page |
