Diana was born and grew up in the U.S., moved to Canada in 1988, received her Canadian citizenship in 1993. Diana worked in New York for a number of years as assistant editor for the Christian Herald magazine. She works in Brockville as a team assistant for CCAC and as a support worker to the developmentally challenged. Diana has taught religious education and written novels. She completed the Ontario Environmental Farm Plan and the Livestock Medicine Program. She takes an active part on the farm. Ian was born and grew up in eastern Ontario on the family dairy farm. He spent eight years on a fruit and vegetable farm south of Belleville near Bloomfield planting, harvesting, selling retail and wholesale, as well as working for the federal government. He has been a part owner of two different grocery stores, has taught religious education in Athens, Cardinal and Belleville, and has worked for a tree nursery, done landscaping and other numerous jobs over the years. Ian's love has always been for the farm, the animals, the nursery work and market gardening. Ian has taken seminars and studies on animals, trees, small plants over the years. He has also completed the Ontario Environmental Farm Plan and the Livestock Medicine Program. Ian works on the farm full time, caring for the farm. Ian and Diana met in the Athens Baptist Church. Although both are daily amazed by the majesty of God's gift of creation as they observe the behaviours and interactions of their birds and animals as well as the growth and development of their greenhouse plants, they both realize that God's greatest gift was salvation through faith in His son, Jesus Christ. |
